Volunteer Befrienders for Young People (ASN)

Would you like the opportunity to make a positive impact in helping young people get ready for life after leaving school?

Sereniti supports neurodiverse children, young people and their families in the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire community (aged 5 - 18). As a Befriender for Young People (minimum age is 18 ) you will be matched with and support a young person on a one-to-one basis through compassion and kindness in establishing a trusting friendship. Befrienders will support young people with attending community activities and commuting on local buses within Aberdeen, reducing loneliness and increasing self-esteem, confidence while promoting independence.

Our volunteers commit a few hours a week, Activities will be after school hours, weekdays, and on Saturdays.

We will provide you with all of the necessary training and support to carry out your responsibilities.

All assistance will make a difference and be highly appreciated. We expect a six-month commitment from our befriender volunteers for the young people to experience a smooth transition process.
