Shettleston Harriers - Athletics Coaches & Helpers

Shettleston Harriers is one of Glasgows most recognised Athletics Club, based in the East End of Glasgow we cater to athletes of all ages and abilities. The club has a strong ethos of inclusion, making Athletics available to everyone, developing people as well as encouraging all of our athletes to compete at the best level they can.
We are always looking for volunteers to help at our sessions which include:
Run, Jump, Throw- Ages 5-9
Junior Groups- Ages 9-18
Senior Groups- Ages 18+
Marshalling and helping at events
The club covers all disciplines within the sport, including distance, sprints, jumps and throws. We have a fantastic team of coaches and event organisers who are always keen to share their knowledge and aid in the development of new coaches. The club has a strong belief in the importance of investing in our people, and as such, we are happy to cover the costs of coaching qualifications and CPD's for any coaches.
So whether you just want to help out with registers, marshalling at races or want to make inroads into coaching athletes or working with young people week in-week out we would love to hear from you.
All volunteers must undertake a PVG check before volunteering at the club, the cost of which will be covered by the club.
If you are interested, please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone. If you don’t hear back within 5 working days, please contact the organisation using the provided details. Check your junk/spam folder for responses. If there’s still no response, contact Volunteer Glasgow at [email protected].

Communication skills, a passion for helping people, you don't need to be an athlete but if you have knowledge of sport and Athletics that can help. Our club has a very diverse range of different participants- so being able to speak different languages can be useful
