Help Make Clinical Trials Greener Research

We would like to invite you to contribute to an upcoming study exploring how clinical trials can be made more environmentally sustainable (“greener”). This research is being conducted by the Aberdeen Centre for Evaluation (part of the University of Aberdeen) and is funded by the Wellcome Trust.
The study is seeking views from people with experience or interest in clinical trials, including members of the public (age 18 years and over). This study wants to find out how clinical trials (the research studies that help improve healthcare) can be made better for the environment. Clinical trials contribute to the environmental footprint of healthcare, and many of the decisions that shape this impact are made by people like you whether you're a member of the public, a healthcare or research professional, a funder, or a regulator. We are interested in your views on how clinical trials could be made more environmentally sustainable. Your insights will help us understand what might enable or prevent changes to current practice, and how more sustainable approaches can be supported in ways that are practical, acceptable, and effective.
Participation would involve taking part in a one-off 1.5 hour focus group or interview, either online (via Teams) or in person, at a time that suits you. The aim is to gather your experiences and perspectives to help inform more sustainable trial practices. All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.
