Bowls Support Volunteer (for Visually Impaired)

Forth Valley Visually Impaired Bowlers are a group of people who are blind/partially sighted who play indoor and outdoor bowls in the Forth Valley. They meet once a week for a 2 hour bounce game.
During summer months they play at Larbert Bowling Club and during the winter months at Falkirk Indoor Bowling Centre.
Forth Valley Visually Impaired Bowlers are looking for volunteers to help assist the visually impaired bowlers during the two hour bounce game. Volunteers would act as a guide and assist with the following:

  • getting bowlers on and off the green

  • guiding from one end of the green to the other

  • helping to pick up bowls

  • helping bowlers to understand where their bowl has landed using the clock system (full training is given).

Friendly, patient and helpful people who enjoy a bit of fun. Bowling experience would be beneficial but not essential.
