Adaptive Bikes Volunteer

Active Schools Cycling Programme
Are you enthusiastic, encouraging, engaging and supportive?
Help children build confidence through Active Schools new adaptive bike program - join their volunteer team!
Active Schools are looking to organise the following types of activities:
Weekly School Sessions
Weekly Family Sessions
One off events
Holiday Programs
After School Clubs
Volunteers would support this program by either walking around and supporting the families/schools or perhaps ride alongside them encouraging them along the way.
Volunteers will work with children with disabilities and additional support needs encouraging the pupils to participate.
As well as the satisfaction of helping the children and families, volunteers will gain leadership and coaching qualifications, disability inclusion training, meet new people and will gain hands on experience in working with others.

Experience required

No previous skills or experience required, you don't even need to be sporty - just a willingness to help others, be enthusiastic and encouraging.

Support
Training details

All training will be given prior to starting.
Cycle Training and how to support the adaptive bikes. Ongoing training such as first aid and Child Protection and wellbeing will also be offered.

Minimum age: 16

PVG check required for this role.

1-3 hours per week, with the potential to be involved with extra sessions for events. Spring and Summer Time.

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
