The Bathgate Stroke Support Group is looking for 1–2 volunteers to help take on key roles as Chair and/or Secretary.
This long-running group provides vital peer support to people affected by stroke in the local community. Due to ill health and changing circumstances, the current coordinators are now looking to step back.

Experience required

• Friendly and approachable
  Able to create a warm, welcoming environment for group members
  Comfortable chatting with people from different backgrounds


• Organised (but not perfect!)
  Able to help plan meetings or keep basic notes
  Comfortable with simple tasks like sending messages or coordinating dates


• Good communicators
  Able to listen and respond with empathy
  Comfortable sharing information with the group


• Reliable and committed
  Available for a couple of hours each week
  Happy to take on a consistent role to help keep the group running


• Team player
  Willing to work alongside another volunteer (shared Chair/Secretary role is possible)
  Open to guidance and support from the current coordinators
