Treasurer (Youth Auchmuty Project)

Youth Auchmuty Project (YAP) is looking for a volunteer Treasurer to join their Board of Trustees and help shape the future of their growing youth charity in Glenrothes.
This is a rewarding opportunity to use your financial skills and experience to support a grassroots organisation making a real difference in the lives of young people. As Treasurer, you will work closely with the Development Worker and Board to provide financial oversight, support budgeting and reporting, and help ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation.
No previous board experience is required, and full support will be provided. The organisation welcome applications from people of all backgrounds who share their commitment to empowering young people and strengthening communities.
With around eight meetings per year, this flexible volunteer role offers the chance to contribute strategically, develop your governance experience, and create lasting social impact.

Experience required

Financial background or experience of a similar role
No prior Board experience necessary
Commitment to making change and improving young people’s opportunities and reducing barriers to participation.

Travel details

YAP is based in Glenrothes but can also join meetings remotely.

Travel expenses

They would complete an expenses form with any receipts and monies can be paid immediately.

Support
Training details

They will be expected to have financial experience. Board member training is provided by FVA throughout the year. If they want further information of other training available this can be provided.
They will be sent formal Board documentation – Constitution and will meet with the Chairperson and Development worker to discuss further role expectations.
The Chairperson and Development Worker are available to support where necessary.

Relevant financial background

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
