Rainbow Leader - Pitmedden

Welcome to Girlguiding Gordon, we are a county providing adventures to girls in a rural part of Aberdeenshire. We have nearly 4,000 young members and nearly 400 volunteers. Gordon units meet in some of the most beautiful part of North East Scotland while still being close to large towns such as Inverurie, Ellon, Westhill and of course Aberdeen.
This means that we have the best of both worlds, we are able to connect with nature while still being able to access fun activities in bigger town and city centres.
At the heart of guiding are our regular group sessions, called unit meetings. These are run by volunteer teams of adult leaders, helpers, and young leaders.
Leaders help to run our units, support the volunteer team, and are involved in planning and running the activities for girls with their fellow volunteers. You’ll be supported to complete our required Leadership qualification and receive training on everything from admin and finance to child safety.
We’re looking for volunteers in Pitmedden to support unit meetings for Rainbows.
Rainbows are aged 4-7 and focus on fun, friendship and adventure.
If you're not ready to start the leadership qualification or you want something more flexible, register your interest in the same way and a senior volunteer will get in touch to chat about other ways to volunteer.
Our units meet on weekday evenings.

Training details

All of our roles have to complete our safeguarding training. For roles directly with girls this is safer guiding, for behind-the-scenes roles this is safer guiding basics.
Anyone interested in becoming a leader also needs to work towards their leadership qualification - a great training programme where you'll receive mentor support and learn new skills! Not sure if it's for you - enquire anyway and our volunteers will be able to find the bets fit for you.
