Dress For Success Scotland
- VO106233
Join Dress for Success Scotland as a Boutique Volunteer and play a hands-on part in helping women across Scotland step into work and life with confidence.
This is a varied, no-two-days-the-same role at the heart of our boutique. Your main focus will be our one-to-one suiting service: welcoming women, learning about their style, goals, and the occasion ahead, whether that's an interview, a new job, training, or another important milestone, and guiding them through a styling session. Each woman leaves with a complete outfit, from clothing and a coat to shoes, a bag, accessories, and beauty essentials, chosen to help her feel comfortable, capable, and ready for what's next. When a client secures employment, she's welcomed back for a capsule wardrobe so she can start work without spending her first pay packet on clothes.
Alongside styling, you'll help keep the boutique running beautifully with tasks such as sorting and organising clothing donations, steaming and ironing garments, keeping fitting rooms and displays tidy, and making sure the space always feels warm, inviting, and professional. There may also be chances to lend a hand with administration, workshops, and events when they come up.
You don't need any formal fashion qualifications to thrive here. What matters is a genuine desire to help, a welcoming manner, and an eye for putting people at ease. We'll work with you to find the tasks that suit your strengths, so your time with us feels enjoyable, fulfilling, and genuinely makes a difference.
Our boutique is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 10am–4pm. We usually ask volunteers to commit to one day a week or fortnightly, though we're happy to be flexible as long as you keep us in the loop. Right now we're especially keen to hear from anyone who can join us on Wednesdays as it's the day we most need a helping hand!
We're committed to being a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone. Our boutique is disability-friendly and accessible by lift. If you have any access needs or would like to chat about how we can support you to volunteer with us, please just let us know.
