Group volunteer

Earlston Bumps, Babies and Toddlers Group is an independent, parent/carer run group for parents and carers with young children.
We are seeking new volunteers to help with the practicalities of running the group on Tuesday mornings in Earlston Church Hall.
We are also looking for volunteers willing to support the management committee.
Earlston Bumps, Babies and Toddlers Group meets between 10am and 12 noon on Tuesday mornings in Earlston Church Hall. Parents and carers attend with their children, and remain responsible for their own children at all times.
The group includes volunteers who arrive at 9.30am to help to get out the toys, welcome the parents, carers and children, make tea and coffee, help to prepare the snack, chat with the group, and tidy up at the end.
There is a rota, and we try to ensure that 2 volunteers are present for each session. We are looking for two additional people able to commit to being on the rota on a flexible basis (i.e. not every week). The group runs in school term time, on school days only.
We also have volunteers serving on the committee alongside parents and carers. This role involves overseeing finances, fundraising, keeping minutes of meetings and ensuring good governance, including insurance and relevant policies.

Experience required

We are looking for people who are friendly, comfortable communicating with young parents and children, and are good listeners.
A willingness to commit to being on a rota to support the group x2 or x3 per month.
Experience of child care, or raising their own children, may be helpful.
