Our groups are one of the most powerful things we do for young people’s mental wellness. We have predictable routines, small, capped numbers, and absolutely no pressure to speak or join in. In that safety, anxious and isolated young people grow in confidence, make friends who truly understand them, and learn to advocate for themselves. Families consistently describe it as life-changing.
We have funding to open our first Groups in Scotland and we are looking for a neurodivergent facilitators and volunteers to run the group for girls and non-binary teens aged 13-18. The groups will run fortnightly for 90 minutes. There will be some admin outside of the times the group runs. We offer a freelance stipend to cover the time you run the group. Our group facilitators are neurodivergent themselves, with neurodivergent children, and they understand - most of them are autistic and will bring their own relatable experience of being diagnosed as an adult to the sessions. They are passionate about nurturing a positive autistic identity and helping to change the narrative around neurodiversity. We will provide resources to use and all training but then it's down to your skills to involve all the young people in the group, co-create the space, make them feel valued and seen.
This is an incredible opportunity to be involved in charity which is neurodivergent led, expanding at quite a pace and truly impact how our first groups in Scotland will run and grow and develop. Currently we plan to open 3 Face to Face groups so are looking for volunteers to run our group in Linlithgow, West Lothian. We are also looking for volunteers who would like to open in their local area potentially Galashiels or other location in the Scottish Borders. Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh are the other potential options although we are very open to opening where the need is greatest and we have volunteers to run the group so do reach out if you would like to open in your area. Experience required

● Lived experience of neurodivergence
● An understanding of the likelihood of poor mental health especially in cases of late
diagnosis
● If you are not neurodivergent, an open mind to the fact that others can experience
the world in a different way to you, and a commitment to think about any
frameworks used to ensure that they are not rooted in a purely neurotypical
framework

Travel expenses

Provide you session stipend on a freelance basis as detailed in the contract if you choose to be a Lead Group Facilitator
We will reimburse out of pocket expenses in accordance with our policy.
