Wellbeing & Activities Volunteer

You will be involved in finding out what activities our residents would like to do then help to plan, organize and make it happen for them. You will be running one to one activities with residents but also put on group events. Our aim is to encourage and support our residents to pursue what they enjoy, reduce isolation and hopefully in turn reduce their drinking by engaging them in meaningful activities.

Experience required

Essential: An interest in people and a commitment to helping others. Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people. Ability to be empathetic, patient and flexible when needed.
Desirable: Experience of working with people with addiction and mental health issues.

Training details

You will be invited to come along and see the place and meet our residents. If you decide to volunteer with us you will be supported on your journey by the Wellbeing & Activities Coordinator who will catch up with you regularly. You will also have the chance to join any training that is available for all staff at the organization. And you would shadow activity sessions before you felt confident to run them on your own.
