Haddington Hockey Club is looking for a new treasurer to help manage the finances of the club. The role would maybe suit someone working in Accounts who is keen to volunteer, or maybe a retired Accountant who is looking to get involved in a local community club. No prior accounting knowledge is needed though. We are a small club with a thriving youth section and one ladies team. We are run by an enthusiastic group of volunteers. Currently the treasurer role takes between 6 to 10 hours a month, depending on the time of year. The main duties are paying for training pitches, paying the coach, paying any invoices, checking membership payments against current members, making some grant applications and then week-to-week banking and purchase requests. It would also, if possible, involve attending a quarterly committee meeting to help with the governance of the club.
