Working with young people. Current Volunteering Vacancies

The Ayr Ark has 3 main aims: Engage, Equip and Empower young people in South Ayrshire specifically the Ayr and Prestwick areas. We have Multiple youth clubs on during the week and our main one being a Friday night. Alongside this we are in 5 schools across Ayr and Prestwick, mentoring young people to make positive decisions. The Ayr Ark is a safe and supportive environment for young people where they can build life skills and confidence.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITES
At the Ark we have multiple clubs and activities, and we are looking for volunteers for all areas:
Craft club (October- April) - Tuesday 4pm-5pm
Empower Autism- Wednesday 4pm-5pm
Empower Autism- Thursday 4pm-5pm
Friday night drop in- Friday 6pm-9pm

We are looking for vibrant individuals who have a passion for working with young people from diverse backgrounds. To get alongside them, chat to them and support them. The Ark is a safe place for young people and our volunteers must be friendly and approachable to our young people.
All volunteers will be expected to comply with our volunteer policy and handbook. PVGs will be given to volunteers over 16.


Other opportunities:
The Ark is very busy behind the scenes. If working face to face with young people isn’t really your thing, we are still looking for lots of other volunteers with skillsets like fundraising, design, social media, finance. Please get in touch if you would like to take up a non-face to face volunteering role here at the Ark!


EXPERIENCE
No experience is required but a willingness to get involved and learn is desired.
