Home-Start - Falkirk
- VO97931
Being a parent isn't easy, it can be lonely, frustrating, heart breaking and overwhelming. All parents struggle from time to time. At Home Start, we recognise this and work to support parents not just to survive but thrive!
Support Group Volunteers help run activities at our weekly family groups which are held in Bo’ness, Denny, Grangemouth and Falkirk or at our adult group in Falkirk. They assist the Group workers to run a range of fun, educational and family friendly activities. They also help prepare snacks and on occasion will offer a bit of respite for the parents who are feeling overwhelmed by entertaining their children or providing parents space to spend time with an older child.
As a Home Start volunteer, you will be given training and support to be effective and make a real difference to families in your community. You’ll also develop skills, experience, meet new people and become part of a community - all whilst supporting parents to bond with their children and increase their confidence. If you can spare a few hours a week, have parenting experience or would like to support parents, families or run family activities then please enquire today!
