HcL support people throughout the Lothians. We provide supported door-through-door transport for people with mobility challenges – either from age, disability, health issues or additional support needs. Dispatchers take passenger bookings, arrange journeys, deal with enquiries and provide information when requested. To ensure the smooth scheduling of journey requests. Using various office equipment correctly, including IT, telephone and photocopier.
Experience required
A good knowledge of Edinburgh, East and Midlothian is essential.
An ability to relate to older people and/or people living with a disability is essential. Previous experience of working with older people/people living with a disability is desirable.
• Good IT and communication is essential.
Travel details
Office base : 24/3A Dryden Road ,Bilston Glen Industrial Estate, Loanhead . Buses stop nearby numbers 38 and 140. There is free carparking at the office.
Travel expenses
Expenses claim form and paid directly into volunteers bank account.

Training details
Volunteers will be given an induction and will complete a variety of excellent training opportunities including Disability Awareness.

Minimum age: 16
Availability
Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
