Volunteer Adviser

You can make a real difference in helping your community by volunteering with Dalkeith Citizens Advice Bureau. Our team of volunteers are vital to the work we do, helping people access the information and in giving them the advice they need to move forward with their lives.

We believe that everyone deserves access to independent, free and non-judgemental advice to help them deal with life’s problems and challenges - and you can help us to do that.

Volunteers are at the heart of how we deliver the Citizens Advice service, whether it’s helping people online, by email, over the phone or in person. You will receive training in advice giving and IT. All we need is 4 to 6 hours per week of your time.

Volunteering at Dalkeith CAB can be a challenge but very rewarding. Many of our volunteers move onto positive destinations having gained experience at CAB. We pride ourselves in providing an inclusive atmosphere where volunteers gain valuable skills as part of a collaborative team. You will be supported by the volunteer manager, staff and volunteer advisors where necessary. All we need is 4 to 6 hours per week of your time.

Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English is important. Paid or unpaid experience of advice-giving or engaging with the public is helpful. Most important is a commitment to the aims of Dalkeith CAB.
