Grangemouth Old People's Welfare
- VO94335
Talbot House is a Day Centre running lunch clubs on a Tuesday & Thursday. Our community organisation promotes and assists the welfare of senior citizens in and around Grangemouth, encouraging involvement of the wider community. We combat loneliness by providing facilities for socialising and eating together.
Our Lunch Clubs are a key part of our work, providing the opportunity for elderly community to be socially interactive and share a meal.
Lunch Clubs Helpers support us on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays between 10am and 2pm with various tasks, including:
-Greeting visitors and making everyone feel welcome.
-Serving and then clearing food, teas, and coffees.
-Washing up plates, using our industrial dishwasher, and general cleaning of the room.
We usually feed between 50-60 people and each Lunch Club is run entirely by volunteers, so all help is very much appreciated.
Experience required
No previous experience is required, we just ask that people work well in a team, have a friendly disposition, and are willing to help.
