Board Member

Later Life Choices Glenrothes provides day services and help to stay at home services to older people in Glenrothes and the surrounding area that enhance their quality and enjoyment of life by encouraging interaction, mental & physical activity, and companionship.

No specific experience is required to join their Board of Directors but you should have a drive to want to make life better for older people and their carers. As a Board Member you will help steer the organisation through your own experience and perspectives, while at the same time gaining valuable experience in management and governance. The key attributes required are commitment, enthusiasm, and a willingness to actively participate in in Board Meetings. Board members are also expected to join one of the Board Sub Groups and be prepared to take on a share of the work involved within these groups.

Travel details

The Board meets at 100 Scott Road, Glenrothes, KY6 1AE. They are within walking distance from the town centre and bus station and are on a bus route. There is street parking available.

Travel expenses

Travel expenses can be paid on the meeting night at a rate agreed by the board

Training details

The Chair is happy to chat informally by phone with potential applicants to give more details about board membership and roles, to discuss the individual’s skills and experience and to answer any questions.

Ongoing support and training is given as required.
