Do you have an interest in mental health? Would you like to spend quality time improving the in-patient experience of someone who has a severe and enduring mental illness?
We are looking for a ward visitor with a warm personality and excellent communication skills to brighten up the hospital stay of someone who is living with a severe and enduring mental illness and within our Older People's Mental Health Services complex care service.
We are looking for someone who loves football, is willing to focus on the preferred team of the person that they are placed with, and who is knowledgeable about games gone by as well as the current state of play, to carry out this ward visiting role for a minimum of one hour per week, for at least a six month period.

Experience required
We are looking for a volunteer who has excellent communication skills, an upbeat approach to life and who can show commitment to the role. As you will be spending time with someone who is socially isolated, on a dedicated one-to-one basis, it's extremely important that applicants are dedicated, reliable and prepared to remain in this role for a minimum of six months.
