We are a small independent Veterans Charity currently looking for volunteers to support our Office Manager.
We are looking for someone to work with the public and process minimal paperwork with the opportunity to create displays and take part in military research as well as support the updating of our social media pages.
As an office volunteer your role will entail: -
· Meeting members of the public.
· Helping at fundraisers.
· Rotate the items on display in the cabinets both in the office and in our Heritage Centre.
· Staff the Heritage Centre.
Organisation aims and objectives
We provide a number of services to support ex-service men and women, and their family members, from the Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, and the Merchant Navy. These services include giving advice and information about benefits, financial support and social activities to assist them adapting to civilian life. If we are unable to help them directly, we then signpost them to other agencies through local contacts.
To increase the availability of and facilitate access to information and support services geared to the needs of members of the forces, and their families, retired from active service through injury or trauma.
No matter how good our services are, we can't properly support our community if we don't have good support people in the team. If this sounds like you, we would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per week.
