Monday Meet-Ups/ Breakfast Club Driver

If you can drive and have access to your own vehicle and would like to make a difference to older people living in your community, this role is for you. Many of our members cannot get to and from our groups independently and require transport to get them there and back. Attending groups helps our members to get out of the house, meet new people and try new things; all of which helps improve their health and wellbeing. Having a friendly face and a regular person pick them up and take them home can help give feelings of reassurance to both them and their family.

You would be given details of the person needing picked up and would pick them up from their home and drop them off at the group they attend. You are welcome to stay during the activity or can leave and come back.

We assess mobility and would make sure the person can get into and out of a vehicle independently. Some of our members may use walking aids such as a stick or walker. Out of pocket expenses for mileage is provided and there would be no changes needed to your insurance as you are helping on a voluntary basis. Induction and training will be provided too.

The activities take place on a Monday afternoon from 2pm to 3.30pm and on a Friday morning from 10am to 12.15pm. A little time would be needed before and after to allow for pick up and drop off.
