You don't need to be a social media or marketing expert for this role - just able to use the internet, email and confident talking to people.
We’ll tell you about our latest national fundraising activities, emergency appeals and campaign messages so you can tell others and encourage them to take part, support and attend events. You’ll research local opportunities, and contact local businesses, schools and local groups. You’ll also find free ways to tell your community about what’s happening locally and nationally.
The Community Fundraising Manager is only a phone call away for support and you’ll meet up with them regularly to make promotional plans and for any mutual updates.
It’s a really flexible role which can fit around your other commitments. If you’re over 18 and can commit to at least two hours a week for a minimum of six months please get in touch.
Experience required
Ability to research, use of internet, email, talk and engage local networks.
Travel details
Dundee and Angus area.
Travel expenses
Public transport costs reimbursed on production of tickets purchased.
Mileage paid at 45p/mile.
To be mutually agreed between volunteer and Community Fundraising Manager
Support
Training details
Would follow STC’s Volunteering training procedures including shadowing CFM to appointments, monthly 121’s, included in volunteer database and therefore comms from our Volunteering team, invites to volunteer information events
Taster
They would shadow CFM (Community Fundraising Manager) to a volunteer/corporate meeting
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Under Save the Children’s Safe guarding policy, Under 18 is regarded as being a child and don’t take on children as volunteers
Frequency & commitment
2 hours weekly for a minimum of six month (can be negotiated)
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
