Befriender

Crossroads Fife Befriending service need your help to support vulnerable adults who are experiencing social isolation and loneliness. Just a regular phone call, visit at home or in the community (one to one or in a group setting) will help a person build stronger social connections and also improve their confidence, health and wellbeing - as well as your own!.

Befriending with Crossroads Fife is a very rewarding experience and brings about positive change for yourself and others. Your time can make a massive difference in someone’s life - they will feel amazing – so will you! You can meet new friends, learn new skills, discover new talents or boost your education and employment prospects.

Can you help transform someone’s life, simply by giving some of your spare time on a regular basis? If you’re interested in the wellbeing of yourself and others and are warm, considerate, honest and reliable, they want to hear from you!

Travel details

The organisation are looking for Befrienders from across Fife.
Travel may be required on foot, by bus or car for face to face befriending in the person’s home or community.

Travel expenses

Out of pocket expenses on a monthly basis with expenses claim/receipts.

Mileage at 45p per mile; Public Transport ; Refreshments up to £3.00 per session

Induction Presentation: Organisation, Volunteer Role, Responsibilities, Boundaries, Lone volunteering, Adult Support & Protection; Ongoing training as required; Regular Support: Individual/Group Face to Face meetings, phone/email/text, regular newsletter
