(Stornoway) Shop Volunteer

British Red Cross charity shops sell second-hand designer and vintage clothes, plus gifts, books, furniture and more, with all profits going towards the organisation's work both overseas and in the UK.

Volunteers are needed to assist with various retail duties, including:


  • cashiering

  • greeting and helping customers

  • sorting new donations

  • displaying merchandise

  • general tidying and cleaning of the shop

  • getting the items ready for re-sale e.g. ironing, pricing


The shop is open Monday to Saturday. You can choose to volunteer on a regular, weekly basis, or add your name to the list for short-term/emergency cover.The volunteer will continually deal with members of the public. Therefore gaining experience in dealing with people and handling money while helping to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.
