Trustee

Dundee Community Transport SCIO (DCT) is committed to delivering affordable and accessible transport for Dundee. We currently deliver a volunteer led transport service, Community Cars and run the Out & About bus which ensures Dundee’s older communities can remain active. This is an opportunity to play a part in helping Dundee’s older people enjoy independence and a good quality of life.

Our meetings take place every 6-8 weeks.

The successful candidates will be required to clearly demonstrate: A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort; ability to think creatively; ability to work effectively as a member of a team; good communication and interpersonal skills; good, independent judgement; impartiality, fairness and confidentiality; leadership skills; strategic vision; understanding and acceptance of responsibilities; willingness to speak one’s mind.

Experience required

We are especially interested in those with experience in the following areas:
Business development, Sustainability,
Fundraising, HR, Pensions. However, we will consider candidates with other interests who are looking to build upon their experience. Full support and training where necessary will be provided.

Travel details

We are located on Constitution Road in the city centre, just around the corner from Abertay University.

Travel expenses

Travel to and from the office will be paid if coming by bus or by car (45p/mile)

Support
Training details

Induction will be provided over first 3 weeks, ongoing support will then be provided by Coordinator and other trustees.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18
You are not eligible to become a trustee if you are under 18, have previously been removed as a trustee by the charity commission, you are currently declared bankrupt or have been disqualified as a company director or have an unspent conviction.
