Office/Administration Volunteer

Forth Valley Migrant Support Network is a grassroots organisation that helps local people whose first language is not English. We are looking to recruit an office/admin volunteer which is a supportive role in our office.

As an admin volunteer, you will help on reception and welcome visitors and service users to the Forth Valley Migrant Support Network office. Other duties within the role will involve a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Depending on the needs of the office and the volunteer’s skills and interests, the admin assistant volunteer will be asked to support with a range of clerical and administrative tasks that may include:
• Providing general administrative support.
• Greeting visitors and providing general support to service users.
• Maintaining a physical and digital filing system.
• Handling telephone calls.
• Responding to emails other digital queries.
• Updating paperwork
• Datasbase entry

Experience required

Good IT skills and knowledge of Data Protection and confidentiality.
Have respect and understanding of different cultural behaviours, practices and religions.
Warm personality with good interpersonal and communication skills.

Travel expenses

Subject to funding and provision of receipts, Forth Valley Migrant Support Network will reimburse out of pocket/travel expenses.

Support
Training details

Full induction will be given. Volunteers will receive the necessary training relevant to your role and the activities you would most like to participate in.
Volunteers will also participate in regular one-to-one supervision and group supervision sessions.

The office is open Monday - Friday during normal working hours. Timing can be flexible for volunteers during this time.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
