Treasurer

At the Fife Heritage Railway (FHR) sound financial controls and management play a critical role in good governance and a Treasurer is required to help achieve this.

Fife Heritage Railway has been successfully preserving the railway heritage of Fife for almost 30 years, working hard to achieve this aim through tapping into various sources of funding and applying for grants to fund their various projects.

As a treasurer, your role would involve:

  • Overseeing the finances of the organisation

  • Keeping a record of invoices, credit notes, funds received, and monies spent

  • Getting involved in the everyday financial operation of the trust

  • Reviewing banking, till receipts and gift aid

  • General duties associated with running a successful charity operation

This is a great opportunity to use your skills to help a small charity that has big ambitions. The volunteer will be part of a friendly, hands-on team.

Experience required

The ideal volunteer will have a background in bookkeeping and/or accountancy, with an affinity for numbers. It would be great if they also had a commitment to community heritage.
