Dundee Kiltwalk - Route Cyclists

Volunteering details

Are you a keen cyclist? Sign up now to volunteer at the Dundee Kiltwalk 2024! We are looking for six cyclists to join our Route team and help support thousands of walkers as they take on the Dundee Kiltwalk and fundraise for a charity close to their heart.

As a Route Kiltie, you will be patrol a designated area of the route on bike, reporting any issues via radio to the Event Control Room (ECR). This role is vital in ensuring the safety of our walkers. Other tasks include communicating with the Route team via Whatsapp, encouraging and supporting walkers, checking in with Route Motivators within your zone and assisting with the removal of signage.

A bike and helmet can be provided if required.

The Dundee Kiltwalk will take place on Sunday 11 August. Shift times are as follows, however we may be able to offer some flexibility.

Route Kiltie Zone 1: 7:30am – 4pm, St Andrews - Guardbridge
Route Kiltie Zone 2: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Guardbridge - Tentsmuir Forest
Route Kiltie Zone 3: 10am - 6:30pm, Tentsmuir Forest - Tayport
Route Kiltie Zone 4: 10:45am - 7:15pm, Tayport - Tay Road Bridge
Route Kitlie Zone 5: 11:30am - 8:30pm, Tay Road Bridge - Slessor Gardens
Route Kiltie Zone 6: 10am - 4pm, Broughty Ferry - Slessor Gardens

Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 145,000 people taking part since 2016. The kind-hearted Kiltwalk community have taken big strides for charities close to their hearts and together with The Hunter Foundation have managed to raise a staggering £42.5 million to date. All funds raised have been distributed to 3,330 Scottish Charities.

Our walkers rely on the encouragement and motivation they receive from our volunteers and many report that this is what ultimately gets them across the finish line. Be part of a feel-good event, soak up the Kiltwalk atmosphere and meet like-minded people. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience in the events industry. It truly is a rewarding day!
