Swaddle is a small social enterprise and registered charity based in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. Since 2016, we are committed to supporting local families in the early years of parenthood. We run a boutique style preloved shop where families can access a wide selection of great quality baby and pre-school children’s clothes, toys & equipment at low prices. More than just a shop, they act as a hub for parents to connect, share, volunteer and engage with each other and the wider community in a positive way. Every penny from the sale of donated items is reinvested back into running our services and delivering programmes that support mums and families when they need it most.
Roles vary within our volunteer programme and are individual to each person’s abilities, needs, wishes and availability. We accept volunteers at our shop and our hub premises, both in central Hamilton. All roles aim to provide a benefit to the volunteers as well as to our local community. Wear your comfy clothes and shoes as you may be sorting, ironing, folding or tidying. We have a kitchen area and provide plenty of tea or coffee. We'll get the music on, and there's always good fun and chat. You can help with shop launches, fulfil community support requests, prepare free goods, or sort through our amazing donations. If you have any particular skills or interest we will look at this on an individual basis.
