Chess Club Volunteer

Be the point of contact for Chess Club activities within designated library – assisting with development of activities as required and helping foster a sense of community within the group.
This would suit someone looking for a front facing community role with a strong social focus. The volunteer would:
• Assist library staff to set up each weekly event
• Promote other library events and groups to interested users
• Assist staff to clear up after each event

• Be a Library Champion within the local community

• We’re looking for volunteers who can offer a minimum commitment of 2 hours per week

• Be active and participate in events in your own community

• We will offer an on-site induction and support with all activities
• Volunteers will gain an understanding of the NLC library service and what it offers the local community
• We are happy to accept applications from people who require additional support if they are independent
• If not independent, a carer needs to accompany the volunteer

Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
