About this event

Clinical volunteers are an essential element of our camps! They participate in daily camper life to provide nursing/medical care. By contributing to a 24/7 provision of residential medical care, they facilitate a medically sound and safe camp experience for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

Volunteering details

Volunteers work under the supervision of the Clinical and Nursing Directors.
Prescribing (doctors and non-medical prescribers). Preparation and administration of medications by all routes.
Delivery of care to campers following care plans, e.g. bowel and bladder washouts, enteral feeding.
Monitoring and assessing the health and well-being of campers, adjusting and advising on care as appropriate.
Managing unexpected events and exacerbations of the campers’ underlying conditions.

Travel details

Camp is based in Strathallan School near Perth train station. We offer pick-ups from the station.

Training details

There will be online training and in-person training the day or morning before camp starts. This will include camp song introductions and clinical team crisis support.
