Treasurer-Scottish Culture and Traditions

Scottish Culture & Traditions (SC&T) is an Aberdeen-based organisation with charitable status providing classes, workshops for adults and young people in the full range of Scottish Traditional music, song and dance. Our youth programme is supported to a large extent by Creative Scotland and we have just been awarded multi-year funding (2025-27) to develop and extend this programme. The adult programme is largely self-funded but we are always looking for funding opportunities to provide administrative assistance to the wholly volunteer board. We are looking for someone to take on the role of treasurer or even just assist with book-keeping. A background in either of these areas would be required.

The volunteer role can be undertaken at home at times to suit the volunteer with attendance at board meetings (in person or online) every 6 weeks on average. Membership of the board would not be necessary initially. Perks would include a free place at one of our classes and engagement with like-minded people who enjoy the social side of our activities as much as the learning.

Excellent support is provided to all volunteers and the volunteer would be trained and thereafter supported by the existing treasurer and a finance sub-committee. A fantastic opportunity to help. For more details please contact:
Richard Ward (Chairperson):
E Mail: chair@scottishculture.org or telephone: 07770 371977

Experience required

A background in accountancy, finance or book-keeping.
