E-Commerce Volunteer

About Make Do & Grow:
Make Do & Grow is a social enterprise based in Glasgow dedicated to supporting families, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable living. We provide affordable clothing, toys, and resources for children while encouraging creativity and environmental responsibility through workshops and community events.

Role Purpose:
As an E-Commerce Volunteer, you will support the development and maintenance of Make Do & Grow’s online store. Your role will help us expand our reach, increase sales, and promote sustainable living through our range of upcycled and preloved products.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Listing: Assist in creating and maintaining product listings, including photographing items, writing descriptions, and pricing.
Inventory Management: Keep track of stock levels, update inventory records, and ensure accurate representation of available products online.
Order Processing: Help process online orders, including packing and shipping items to customers.
Customer Service: Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues related to online sales in a timely and professional manner.
Marketing Support: Assist with online marketing efforts, including social media posts, email newsletters, and promotional campaigns.
Website Maintenance: Ensure the online store is user-friendly, up-to-date, and functioning smoothly.
Sales Analysis: Track sales data and provide insights to improve product listings and marketing strategies.
Quality Control: Ensure all items listed and shipped meet our quality standards and promote our mission of sustainability.

Experience required

Skills and Experience:
E-Commerce Knowledge: Familiarity with online selling platforms such as Vinted, eBay, or similar.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of website management and digital marketing tools.
Communication Skills: Clear and effective written communication for product descriptions and customer interactions.
Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks, keep accurate records, and maintain an organised inventory.
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail in product listings,

For the Ecommerce Volunteer role at Make Do & Grow, we want to ensure that volunteers are supported in their journey with us. We offer reimbursement for reasonable expenses related to your volunteering, including:

Travel Costs: We cover public transport fares (bus/subway) within Glasgow or mileage if you’re driving/cycling. Keep your receipts or travel tickets for reimbursement.
