Play Assistant Volunteer

At Polmont Playgroup we strongly believe in learning through play, for over 52 years, we have been providing a valuable service to our community and we are always looking for ways we can do more. Our small team of experienced playleaders see c40-60 children aged 2.5 - 5years each week for their play sessions and our Facebook reviews will tell you all you need to know.
Sessions are two hours long and children are provided with a snack.

Tasks involved in the role will include:

  • Supporting playleaders to set up play spaces.

  • Interacting with children during play - outdoor play, crafts, music, roleplay, reading etc.

  • Some interaction with parents may occur so individuals should be confident to speak to other adults, questions and concerns can be handed to playleaders to assist parents.

  • Highlight & report any safety risks or accidents observed to ensure the playleader can take necessary action.

This will be a great opportunity for anyone that would like to volunteer with children or for anyone who is considering or currently studying towards a career in childcare. Qualified playleaders can support you ensuring your time at the playgroup compliments your learning whilst gaining valuable hands on experience.
