Skylark IX Recovery Trust
- VO102837
The Skylark IX Recovery Trust cares for a ‘Dunkirk Little Ship’ that saved lives during Operation Dynamo in 1940 and was herself later saved from a watery grave at Loch Lomond in 2012. Today, as a symbol of recovery and resilience, Skylark IX sits at the heart of our projects inspiring people to make positive changes to their lives and communities. We are currently looking for volunteers to support and join the Skylark IX Community Rowing Project.
We are looking for general helper who will assist us with administrating the Community Rowing Project. Ideally we would like someone who can help us to organise our rowing schedule, organise rowing meetings and take minutes. We’re also looking for general mentoring support with our rowing training sessions, particularly for those new to rowing, who are just trying out for the first time, or just need a bit of extra help. You can help either as a rower, or a shore-person.
We’re particularly keen to hear from people who have experience in rowing, coxing, or with any other similar skills or experience that might lend itself to the project but this is not a necessity to volunteer with us. We want our rowing project to represent our local community, and be open to all.
So, whether you are looking to use your time well, update your skills or have the chance to do something a bit new, we would love to hear from you. In return, we can offer you a warm welcome and all of the support and help you could need, plus you’ll have the opportunity to row regularly with our crew and take advantage of the beautiful blue space that surrounds us. Having your help will allow us to be there for the people who need us. Any time you can give will make a real difference.
