SSAFA volunteer Caseworkers make sure no Veteran has to battle alone - could you be the direct link someone needs to get the help they deserve? Join us today! The Inverness and Western Isles branch of SSAFA , the Armed Forces charity is hoping to attract more caseworkers.
SSAFA caseworkers help clients across a range of areas, with all assistance tailored to individual needs. This can include sourcing funds for special equipment for someone with a disability, arranging adaptions to a property so an older client can remain at home, or securing funds for a rental deposit. Caseworkers also sign-post clients onto specialist local services for advice on benefits, housing, mental health, debt, finding work and more.
SSAFA's volunteers caseworkers provide an essential source of support to the local Armed Forces community, but volunteering is also well documented as bringing numerous rewards to those who give their time, including a sense of pride and an opportunity to give something back.
Wendy Taylor, Volunteer Development Manager said 'Our charity and it's volunteers are proud of their long-standing heritage and all the work we do in Inverness and the Western Isles, across the rest of the UK and worldwide'.
