Are you a keen Website Developer with an interest in storytelling and Orcadian culture? Then this role could be a perfect match!
We are looking for a volunteer with the technical knowhow to lead the development of our WordPress website, focusing on website design and content.
The volunteer would become part of our local storytelling committee (not all of whom are storytellers). We are a small friendly group, and have been running the annual Orkney Storytelling Festival for 15 years. The volunteer would be able to attend all the events during the festival for free, as well as any other events that we hold throughout the year.
The role would be a great opportunity for someone to gain experience in developing a website for a non-profit arts organisation.
Experience required
We need someone confident with the WordPress site, and generally supportive towards the aims and activities of The Orcadian Story Trust. They would also need to have a little bit of intuition as to how to develop the site.

Training details
We would provide a specification for the role, and there would be liaising with our treasurer who currently maintains the site. We would have regular check-ins to see that everyone was happy with how it was going.
Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
