FRIDAY YOUTHWORK TEAM – VOLUNTEERING

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT THE AYR ARK
The opportunity is for vibrant people of all ages who enjoy all that entails working with young people of various backgrounds and for those who are looking for experience within this area.
Volunteers will assist with the running of after school activities, helping with the set-up, and pack down, as well as running holiday activities. Volunteers should be flexible as all activities will take place during evenings and school holidays.
If you’re interested in volunteering with us and you are over 18, get in touch to find out how you can get involved.
FRIDAY YOUTHWORK TEAM
The Ayr Ark is open to young people on Friday evenings from 6:30pm till 9:00pm. Volunteers are required to help from 6:00pm till 9:15pm, this will involve both set up and closing procedures.
Some of the responsibilities include, handling money and use of our till, serving drinks and snacks at the bar, engaging with young people through conversation and/or games, and being a role model to our young people.
Volunteer roles are rotated to different areas within the building throughout the night, to allow you to interact and build relationships with different young people; and to gain more skills and qualities.
We are also very keen to have people with life experience who enjoy helping young people and becoming role models for them.
EMPOWER AUTISM
Empower Autism runs every Thursday between 4pm and 5pm and is a great experience to work with children who have various challenges.
STUDENT PLACEMENTS (OVER 18 YEARS OLD)

Looking to get experience in a youth work setting? We are open to working with students who are required to do a work placement as part of a Youth Work related degree. We have a partnership with UWS, speak to your programme leader or get in touch with us to find out more.
