Newton Dee is a Camphill community in Aberdeen, Scotland. Newton Dee Camphill Community is an intentional village community for adults with additional support needs. Newton Dee is home to long-term volunteers and short-term volunteers and provides a home and meaningful work to about 75 adults with additional support needs. Newton Dee offers a large number of sheltered workshops such as the Bakery, Confectionery, Farms, Gardens, Woodwork Shops as well as other Craft Workshops and the Store and Cafe. In addition Newton Dee provides a rich cultural life including concerts and events and plenty of opportunities to make friends.
The Newton Dee Bakery is a sheltered workshop for adults with additional support needs who work together to produce delicious baked goods, such as specialty breads, pastries, pizzas and pies. These are sold in the Bakery shop and the Newton Dee Store as well as delivered to other Camphill communities in the area.
No experience required, all we need is a keen interest in other people and the willingness to learn new tasks and work within a diverse team. Volunteers will be part of the team and be introduced to the work gradually with appropriate tasks and continuous support.

Newton Dee is located in Bieldside, Aberdeen. The postcode is AB15 9DX. The number 19 bus stops 5 minutes away and offers regular transport. The railway line connects to Aberdeen City for those who cycle or walk.

Training details
Relevant, excellent support is provided to all volunteers. The volunteer will be part of the team and be introduced to the work gradually with appropriate tasks and continuous support.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 16
Frequency & commitment
Flexible times available to volunteer. All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.
Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
