Tonic Arts Collection Volunteer

Do you have an interest in art? Perhaps an eye for detail? Would you like to combine that with supporting the patients and staff of NHS Lothian? If so, our art collection volunteer role could be for you.

We are looking for volunteers to help manage the NHS Lothian Charity art collection that is on display across our sites by checking and recording the condition of the artworks, frames and interpretation panels. For those interested there will also be a chance to combine this with work to support patient and staff engagement activities such as art walks and talks.

Opportunities available at both the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, EH16 4SA & Midlothian Community Hospital, EH22 3ND


Experience required

• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Methodical working methods
• Commitment to regular volunteering on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis
• Interest or training in art is desirable but no prior experience or education in the art field is required.

Travel details

Both sites accessible by bus and parking also available but this can be busy at peak times.

Travel expenses

Volunteers can claim expenses weekly. We will reimburse cost of public transport or mileage for travel to and from volunteering at 28p per mile.

Support
Training details

Initial induction training followed by ongoing support and access to additional training where required or requested.
