Get ready for a summer of fun, laughter and making a difference! Join Aberlour’s Summer Playscheme and help children with disabilities and additional support needs experience an unforgettable summer. As our Minibus Driver, you’ll play a key role in transporting children to a wide range of exciting activities – from swimming, bowling and kickboxing to pottery painting, yoga, Zumba, arts and crafts, and sensory play.

Options Ayrshire is a respite and short breaks service for children and young people with additional support needs. The summer playscheme provides fun, inclusive experiences that help build confidence, independence and joy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Drive a minibus safely to take children and young people to and from the playscheme and summer outings.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report any concerns.
• Help ensure children are safely seated and feel comfortable during journeys.
• Work as part of a friendly team to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
• Bring patience, care and a positive attitude to every trip.

What We’re Looking For:
• A full, clean driving licence with category D1 — this allows you to drive a minibus (a vehicle with 9–16 passenger seats). You must have held your licence for at least 12 months.
• Comfortable driving a larger vehicle (experience is helpful but not essential).
• Reliable, punctual, friendly and calm under pressure.
• A genuine interest in supporting children and helping them enjoy new experiences.
• Willingness to complete PVG checks and training.
• Flexible, open-minded and happy to be part of a team.
