Volunteer Minibus Escorts

Aberdeen ENABLE Branch are looking for enthusiastic, committed volunteers to escort Branch members with a Learning Disability on the branch minibus to social activities. Volunteers will travel with the minibus driver, collect branch members from their home and escort them in the branch minibus to social activities and then home again. Aberdeen Branch has been running social activities in the city for nearly 60 years and there are currently around fifty members of the 'Pop Club' which meets fortnightly.

The specific tasks for the role are to inform the driver of the run sheet of pickups of club members, to greet the member at their door and walk with them to the minibus, to ensure that people board the bus safely and to repeat the process on the journey back home.

Volunteers will come from a wide range of backgrounds and will have many different qualities and skills. Essential qualities for this role are: an enthusiastic and positive attitude and being a team player, willing to work with others from a range of backgrounds.

Throughout the volunteering opportunity you will gain new skills and experience working with people who have a Learning Disabilities, their families and carers. You will also gain practical experience of assisting and escorting a group of people on a minibus.

Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed in line with Aberdeen Branch policy. Volunteers will be given an induction by the Branch Committee.
