PFSS PET FOSTERER - WEST OF SCOTLAND

By volunteering with PFSS, you would be joining a team which has been helping pets and their owners since 1985 and is currently celebrating it's 40th anniversary as a registered charity in Scotland.
Key to our work is not only the welfare of pets but also the wellbeing of the owner, facing a dilemma of how to survive some unfortunate situation in their personal world which can be collapsing.
PFSS provides that bridge, to a time when the owner and pet can be reunited, and the companionship restored. The anticipation of this helps many, psychologically, through their difficult time.
Fosters give a temporary home to a pet, taking full responsibility for the care, feeding and exercise of the pet, in short they give the pet a ‘home from home’ and free the owner from worry.
We offer care for all types of pets, from cats & dogs to rabbits, hamsters, birds and reptiles.

Experience required

You will be helping pets and owners in an emergency, reducing stress and anxiety for both during a difficult time, especially when seeing a pet being reunited with its owner.
The enjoyment of caring for a pet without the lifetime commitment with the opportunity to get to know other animal lovers in your local area.
You will be a part of a team of Pet Fosterers helping pets and owners across Scotland and will be invited to attend our online Annual General Meeting with all other volunteers and the PFSS team.

Required skills, qualities and experience:
● A passion for improving outcomes for pets and owners in emergency situations
● Good communication skills
● Previous experience of pet care/ownership
● Commitment to following all PFSS policies and procedures
● Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
