Pets As Therapy Visiting Volunteers

Pets As Therapy are a national charity providing the healing power of therapy pets to schools, hospitals, care homes and more. Our mission is to improve the mental and emotional well-being through human-animal interactions. We are looking for passionate volunteers to support us, with their cats and dogs, to visit and spread comfort and joy to their community.

As a Pets As Therapy volunteer, you will be at the heart of what we do. PAT Volunteers are dedicated pet owners who give up their spare time to help others. Along with their dog or cat, volunteers visit all types of establishments including residential care homes, hospitals, hospices and both special needs and mainstream schools. Our volunteers and their pets bring comfort and companionship to people living in residential care homes who may feel isolated, confused and lonely. We support schools to help young people improve their literacy skills and encourage confidence and concentration in the classroom.

Excellent support and relevant guidance is provided to all volunteers. Includes safeguarding training and access to our training platform.

There are flexible times available to assist and all help makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.
