Hospitality Volunteers

St George's Community Centre is nestled in the heart of Tillydrone. We are a non-profit, non-religious, Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation managed and run entirely by local residents for our Tillydrone Community.
If you enjoy meeting new people, making a cuppa, helping with simple food prep, or just being part of a friendly, welcoming space, we’d love to have you involved at St G’s. Our Living Room Cafe, Coffee Club and Lunch Club are busy, cheerful wee gatherings, and we’re looking for people who’d like to join in, lend a hand, chat with others, and help keep things running smoothly. Whether you’re great in the kitchen, love a good blether, or simply want to do something positive in the community, there’s a place for you here.
Our Coffee Club takes place the first and third Thursday of each month 9.30-11.00am, our Lunch Club is the third Thursday of each month - 9.30/10.00am-1pm and there are flexible times available to help out in Our Living Room Cafe and other activities we provide for the community. We are based at Hayton Road, Tillydrone, Aberdeen, AB24 2RL. We have a bus stop directly outside our community centre, and for those living locally we may be able to arrange transport. Any help you can be with any of our groups and activities will make a real difference for people, the community and be greatly appreciated.
Excellent support and guidance is provided. All volunteers receive a friendly induction covering their role, basic food hygiene, safeguarding awareness and how our activities run day to day. Ongoing support is provided through regular check ins, clear guidance, and opportunities to shadow more experienced volunteers. We also offer training relevant to the tasks volunteers take on, ensuring everyone feels confident and well supported. Funding is already in place for volunteer training, and we’re always happy to discuss any additional learning or qualifications volunteers feel would benefit them. Our aim is to make sure every volunteer feels equipped, welcomed and part of the team.
For more information please contact Lynn Cunningham, Centre Manager at email [email protected] or telephone 01224 036189.
