Graphic Designer (Digital, Online & Hard Copy)

Volunteering details

Seagull Trust Cruises (Ratho Branch), who provide short free canal cruises for the elderly, infirm, and those with special needs, are looking for help with the production of posters, fliers, and other marketing material ~ hard copy, social media and on-line material. Experience in copy writing for press releases, social media etc., would be good, but is not essential. This is a HOME BASED volunteering opportunity. The charity operate 9 specially designed wide beam barges, all wheelchair accessible, from 4 branches, and run around 2000 cruises per annum, carrying approximately 22,000 passengers. The Ratho branch is a major contributor to the Charity's activities and ongoing success, and we have a number of new exciting initiatives that we need to "shout loudly about"

Experience required

This is an ideal volunteering opportunity for either an experienced graphic designer, or a budding enthusiast wanting some practical experience. Although there is no need for any experience in the Scottish Canal Network, or working with the elderly etc., the role will obviously involve graphics relative to our operation. More important is a creative mind and design capability, and the scope to work on ones own to produce professional looking material. You would be expected to work with publishers, material producers, printers etc. when required.
The Ratho branch is autonomous within the Seagull Trust Charity, run by our own committee The role is wide and varied and will suit anyone with graphic design and / or social media experience who would like to get involved in the running of a vibrant charitable & well respected organisation.
