Chef

Knights Templar Goodwill Charity of Scotland is dedicated to alleviating poverty and assisting those in need in Scotland by providing essential care packages, food, clothing and long-term support for veterans, homeless and those living in poverty.

They are looking for a chef who can prepare approximately 500 meals every second Saturday in the Maxwell Centre, Cowdenbeath. The role involves shopping for the required ingredients on the Thursday/Friday and preparing the meals on the Saturday. The meals are frozen prior to distribution to those in need. The chef will be assisted by a small team of kitchen staff who prepare the ingredients for cooking.

If you have experience of cooking a range of meals for large numbers and enjoy supporting your local community and those in need, this may be the role for you.


Experience required

Experience of cooking for large numbers of people and working as part of a team are essential. A current food hygiene certificate is essential.

Travel details

The meals are prepared un the kitchen of the Maxwell Centre, Cowdenbeath on Saturday between 10 and 4. The Maxwell Centre is accessible by both private and public transport.

Travel expenses

Travel expenses will be reimbursed on a case by case basis at public transport rates.

Support
Training details

An induction will be provided, and the volunteer will have the opportunity to observe the current chef to gain an understanding of the role. Ongoing training will be provided.
