Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? We are looking for compassionate and reliable Volunteer Drivers to join our dedicated hospice team in Glasgow. As a Volunteer Patient Driver, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients access the care they need by providing safe and supportive transport to and from the hospice.

What You'll Do:


Collect patients from their homes at a prearranged time and bring them to the hospice.


Return patients home after day services, outpatient appointments, or discharge from the ward.


Ensure patients gain safe entry to their homes.


Refer any medical, social, or personal concerns expressed by patients to hospice staff.


Assist with other related tasks when needed.


What You’ll Need:


A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.


Good interpersonal and communication skills.


The ability to deal sensitively with patients and visitors.


Reliability, responsibility, and a caring nature.


A good knowledge of the local area.


An understanding of confidentiality and the needs of those affected by end-of-life care.


Restrictions

Minimum age: 18
Must have a Full Drivers License and Access to own vehicle

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
