The role of the Treasurer:
Creating budgets for board approval and monitoring progress.
Annual accounts – gathering material for the accountants and submitting.
Ensuring effective financial management at the festival.
Providing financial support to fundraising including grant applications.
Ensuring compliance with any financial obligations including tax.
The Treasurer will also be a board member of the festival.
Experience required
Experience in accounting or finance, especially in charitable or arts organisations.
A commitment to the aims of Solas Festival.
A willingness to attend meetings, to speak your mind and to give of your expertise to a team effort.
Integrity.
An acceptance of the duties of trusteeship.
Travel details
Primarily at volunteer’s home, with a full weekend in June in Errol.
Travel expenses
Reimbursement of costs on receipt of receipts.
Support
Training details
Written material on governance of Solas and generically; one to ones.
Taster
Invitation to away day.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Trusteeship comes with legal duties which can only be fulfilled by those over 18.
